Cross-curricular drumming program for grades 2-6 combining elements of music such as form, beat, and rhythm with physical activity.

Burlington Sustainability Academy
Burlington Sustainability Academy. Funding: $3,200. Purchase and shipping of two FlipForm risers. Will allow students to sing, play instruments, act, and dance using a variety of different seating and standing arrangements, for PreK through 5th grade music classes as well as chorus, ukulele, and composition club extracurricular groups.

Burlington Tech Center
Burlington Tech Center, Digital Media Lab. Funding: $10,000. Purchase recording equipment (multi-input audio interfaces, hardware for sampling and beat making, and
additional headphones and cabling), start a new apprenticeship with a professional recording studio, and expand the program to two middle schools.

Craftsbury School
Craftsbury School. Funding: $2,001. This funding will support a two week-long artist-in-residence experience with Burlington Taiko (Japanese drumming). The residency will concur during the regular school day culminating in a free evening performance for families and the broader community. It will include students in grades K-12.
White River Valley High School, South Royalton
White River Valley High School, South Royalton. Funding: $10,000. Purchase Wenger acoustic shells to be used at every ensemble performance. Will benefit all students in chorus, band, jazz band, small group and individual instruction, and annual musical.
West Rutland School, Rock Lab
West Rutland School, Rock Lab. Funding: $3,427. Upgrade/expand instruments and equipment for program. Rock Lab has found great success, expanding to two separate sections for students. These students perform for school events, travel to play at area elementary schools, and various other community events, including the Vermont State Fair. Last year, they were a top-ten finalist in the Do Good Festival’s “Beats For Good" competition.
Thaddeus Stevens School
Thaddeus Stevens School. Funding: $4,761. Purchase PA system, instruments, and equipment for school’s modern band program, improving equitable access for students. Scholarship funds to allow students in 5th-8th grade to rent other instruments.

Proctor Jr./Sr. High. Funding: $7305. Grade 7th-12th band is doubling in size. Purchase of marimba, piccolo, bass saxophone to increase equitable access for all students to the instruments.

Mountain View SU, Killington Elementary, Woodstock. Funding: $3,875. Purchase 20 steel drums and materials. For regular music class, all students can learn a musical instrument regardless of need. Students will also perform in semiannual concerts at school and local venues. 4th-6th grade students.

Missisquoi Valley Middle/High School. Funding: $10,000. Purchase ten new microphones and upgrade the lights in the theater. Achieve our dream of creating a professional standard performing arts space for this community. Includes dimmers, lens tubes, wash fixtures, cables, cyc fixtures, and profile fixtures.
Lyndon Institute
Lyndon Institute. Funding: $4,000. Increase access to instruments so all students can participate, not based on which families can purchase new or used instruments. Upgrade 2 drums from the 1960s that are no longer tunable, fix and replace instruments, and purchase new instruments & two guitars for jazz band.
Lothrop School, Pittsford
Lothrop School, Pittsford. Funding: $8,000. Create an alternative music curriculum, or “rock program.” While this program would be geared towards older students in 5th and 6th grade, all students K-6 would benefit through early exposure and hands-on opportunities to try these instruments over the years. Purchase 5 electronic drum sets, 5 keyboards, 5 electric guitars, 5 bass guitars, a full drum set with cymbals and a PA system so that each student has the opportunity to learn their own instrument in each weekly music class.
Fisher Elementary
Fisher Elementary, Arlington VT. Funding: $5,000. Purchase wind instruments for 4th-5th grade band program, allowing students to compose their own work and perform rock, jazz, pop, and classical music. Provide an opportunity for all students to learn an instrument, regardless of their financial situation.

Collaborate with the Chandler Performing Art Center in Randolph to host artists from Mali and Mozambique for school-wide assemblies, workshops, and a community evening celebration with our students and artists.
