Music Drives Us Steps Up for Lowell High School Music & Theater Programs

For most students, the last week of school is usually filled with fun, yearbook signings, and sharing summer plans. For Lowell High School, it was spent cancelling band classes, throwing away destroyed instruments, and pumping hundreds of gallons of water from classrooms.

In June 2021, Lowell High School’s music and theater departments were ravaged by a burst water pipe – leaving thousands of dollars in instruments, equipment, books, and more destroyed in over a foot of water.

When the news of this situation broke, Music Drives Us immediately reached out to Lowell High School with a $280,000 donation to get their music and theater programs back on their dancing feet. This donation allowed the school to obtain over 50 new instruments, including a baby grand piano; 50 new instrument cases; 250 music stands and chairs; teaching materials; books and music; and storage and cabinetry for instruments and music.

Because of our generous donors, Music Drives Us is able to step up to preserve and create musicalopportunities for students like these. Thank you for your continuous support and allowing us to be New England’s Leading Music Foundation.

Since 2006, Music Drives Us has donated thousands of instruments, funded hundreds of music education and therapy programs, and donated millions of dollars to schools, organizations, and individuals throughout New England.
