MDU Celebrated National Teacher Appreciation Day

Music Drives Us celebrated National Teacher Appreciation Day by awarding a $1,000 grant to a teacher who has inspired many.

Congratulations to Mark Todd from Holyoke High School, the winner of the Teachers Who Inspire Contest! Organized by the Boch Center, he was nominated among many other amazing teachers to win the grand prize, which included the MDU grant. As part of the grand prize, he and his class also won tickets to see the Sound of Music at the Boch Center Wang Theater. Before the show, we presented him the grant on stage in front of his excited students in the audience.

While accepting his check, he revealed in his acceptance speech that he had 250 unused sick days from all of his years of teaching because of his passion to inspire his students through music.

We were thrilled to meet and support such a deserving teacher. Congratulations again, Mark!
